Introductory training for manager nurses: some possibilities inside the SUS

This article focuses on Introductory Training as a starting point inside the capacitation process of members members from SUS (Sistema Único de Saúde - Brazilian Public Health System). Its premise is that management practices demand an understanding of the body of knowledge existing in the micro and macro managers' workspaces. By articulating Introductory Training and the management area, such training is deemed strategic for nurses undertaking management positions, as it creates an opportunity for development of technical, administrative, ethical and political competences. Within the organizational scope, an Introductory Training must be planned and implemented in a participative and democratic way, in order to provide managers with a broader comprehension of the context they are inserted in.
