Women and their experienced fears in their obitetric trajectories

Today, delivery core is still a critical point in obstetric services, bringing negative consequences both to the woman and the child. In this study, we have tried to access the perception of users of a primary health center in Ribeirão Preto about delivery care. Through a qualitative approach, 21 pregnant women, aged between 14 and 34, were interviewed in July, 1995. The manifestations of fear arising from delivery, had different forms: feor of death, feor of type of delivery, fear of being assisted by other physician different from the one she had consulted with during prenatal examinations, fear of not knowing in which hospital she would deliver her baby.
