The work perfomed at the Pediatric Unit of the Hospital de Clínicas of the Federal University of Goiás, between May and October of 1990, done in a 4-stage research. The first stage, was to prepare the IREFLA, submitting it to be evaluated by nine judge nurses, who would grade them between o and 5 for each item, remaining those that would get a average score equal or above 3. The second score, we performed a review-survey on physical data exam of all records of sucklings that had been interned on the pediatric unit during three months and proceding with comparison analysis of obtained data without and with IREFLA. To conclude, we are proposing the Physical Exam of the Sucklings records tool, which has turned out an efficient instrument in the studied context.
