The control can be done by sterilization of medical-sugical supplies. Through methods such as, dry heat, pressured water stam or rariation, and chemical methods such as chemical solutions or ethilene-oxide.
These are means easily found in the majority of hospitals, but in para-hospital institutions the problems persist because of low budgets and/or lack of resources.
We have received, as Surgical Centers Specialists and Nursing Teachers, requests to give consultation on the possible alternative methods of sterilization, such as microwave ovens. Since we have no scientific evidences of the method's efficiency, we have prepared a research protocole with the objective of testing and controling, sterilization results of medical surgical supplies submited to microwave radiation.
