ABSTRACT

This study aimed to assess the associations between the birth period of soccer players and tactical behavior efficiency on the tactical performance in soccer players of Under-17. The sample comprised 6308 tactical actions, performed by 100 players. The instrument used to collect and analyze data was the System of Tactical Assessment in Soccer (FUT-SAT). Multinomial Logistic Regression was used to assess the association between the tactical performance and behavior efficiency of tactical principles and players birthdate. Results displayed positive associations between the tactical behavior efficiency and tactical performance of the principles of Width and Length, Penetration and Delay. Positive associations were also found between the birth period and tactical performance of players born within the 2nd and 3rd quartile. It is concluded that for this sample, tactical behavior efficiency and birth period influenced tactical performance.
