Comportamento hidrológico superficial e erodibilidade dos solos da região de Santo Antônio do Leite, Distrito de Ouro Preto - MG

This paper demonstrates an analysis of the superficial hydrologic behaviour of soils encountered in Santo Antonio do Leite, Ouro Preto (MG), Brazil. In this area gullies are very common, reaching huge proportions and causing environmental, social and financial damages for the population in general. This study has analyzed the erodibility of the soil, through Plot erosion, Inderbitzen tests, Aggregate Stability and size distribution tests. The results of these tests defined that the covering of the monitored soil is resistant to laminate erosion. The superficial horizon of the soil serves as a protective layer for the sub-superficial horizon of the soil which is, very susceptible to the erosion process. However, as the region has many gullies, it can be concluded that natural or human interference occurred which provoked the disruption of the superficial layer of the soils.
