Guidelines for the competitive performance and sustainable development of quarries located in Brazilian metropolitan urban conglomerates - Part 2

The first part of this paper stated the importance of strategic planning and land management in stimulating the competitiveness and the sustainability of aggregate production for use in construction. This second and final part analyses the case of the crushed stone pole of the Rio de Janeiro metropolitan region as well the alternative mechanisms that may be applied to promote technological, land management and environmental improvements. It also presents public policy proposals directed to promote the competitive and sustainable development in the aggregates production poles of the metropolitan regions of Brazil.
