Rethinking the debate on migration and development: new evidence and directions

Abstract

This paper aims to assess the links between international migration and development, taking in to account the complexity of this phenomenon and its new features. In reviewing specialized literature, understudied migratory flows such us South-South, North-South and North-North migration will be analysed. Phenomenas with increased importance such us refuge, climate change, transit migration and the influence of displacement upon happiness and well-being of migrants will also be considered.
