ABSTRACT
The article examines the uses and meanings of the idea of dependency in Celso Furtado’s thought. For this, we perform a brief reconstruction of the context in which the works and ideas are produced and follows the different dimensions of the interaction between underdevelopment and dependence in Furtado’s trajectory.
