Psychotherapeutic groups and interpretation from a Lacanian approach: reflection and redefinition and modes of treatment in collective health

The present article presents and discusses the ethical and theoretical psychoanalytic viewpoints of Jacques Lacan, with emphasis on the question of interpretation. The central aim is to reflect and redefine possibilities and forms of treatment in the context of collective health. Where psychoanalysis is applied, psychotherapeutic groups, as proposed here, are among the options for producing meaning for problems surrounding subjectivation in contemporary clinical practice, especially in public health. With the practice presented and analyzed here we hope to contribute, at least minimally, to a proposal for group psychotherapy founded on the theory of Jacques Lacan. The expectation is that this theory may help us rethink and redefine practices of group treatment in the context of collective health.
