Time has been extensively investigated by Eugène Minkowski, taking up Henri Bergson’s concepts of objective time and lived time. Despite some divergences, Bergsonian’s influence contributed to the studies of Minkowski, who sought to reach the characteristics and alterations of lived time in patients. The alteration in the experience of time — possibly intensified during the COVID-19 pandemic — is placed at the core of depression according to phenomenological psychopathology. Thus, this study aims to expand the understanding of lived time and depression during the pandemic, which is relevant considering that more than 300 million people worldwide are affected by depression and that its global prevalence increased by 25% after the first year of the virus infection.
