Emphasis on the Articles Discussion

EDITORIAL

In conclusion, I suggest the authors of future articles to be submitted to the journal to consider the possibility of giving emphasis to the discussion section, contributing that way to present more analyses bearing a scientific feature. I also suggest bibliographic search to be made within the articles already published in the Materia Journal, which possesses an important collection on themes of interest to the area of materials. This is also important to increase the citations to these articles.

Cordially,

Paulo Emílio V. de Miranda

Editor-in-Chief

  • Emphasis on the Articles Discussion

Among the articles submitted for publication in the Materia Journal, one may find a variety of emphasis given to different sections of the article. Although it is considered as very important to well position the theme approached, based on the literature available, on the introductory part of the article and to concisely but carefully describe the experimental procedures and the results obtained, the discussion section is the one to be emphasized. This is so because giving emphasis to the discussion of the results, evaluating them comparatively to the existent knowledge already reported in the literature, it becomes possible to make a deeper analysis of the work done. It is also in this section that one might infer behaviors in conditions different from those tested and offer physical and mathematical models. These actions contribute to come up with a more scientific text and represent the possibility to climb a few steps in the knowledge scale about the theme.
