Analysis of physical and mechanical properties of pressed concrete blocks without structural purposes with additions of recycled PET

ABSTRACT

This work shows the analysis of a no conventional element for building sealing system: a pressed concrete block incorporating recycled PET. For this it was made an experimental analysis replacing, in volume, fine aggregate (fine crushed stone) by fractions of crushed PET in contents of 15%, 30% and 45%. Were determined geometrical, physical and mechanical characteristics indexes of produced blocks. Results allow to conclude that the content that showed the best results was 15% of PET because its compressive strength showed a value greater than the others, highlighting even lower absorption, resulting from its higher homogeneity and better wrapping of the obtained composite.
