Abstract
This study presents a new record of geographic distribution of the genus Paphinia to mid-western Brazil, in Mato Grosso state. It extends the current distribution of P. cristata, as well as Paphinia, to the south border of Brazilian Amazon. A description of the taxon, ecological and taxonomical comments, photographic plate and an identification key to the genus in Brazil are also provided.
