Cassia cana Nees et Mart. (Leguminosae-Caesalpinoideae) II. Vascularização floral e considerações sobre o relacionamento planta-inseto.

Abstract

In this work the author carries out the parting of vascular traces and their ulterior behaviour taken with floral pieces of Cassia cana Nees et Mart. She reports the perfect adaptation plant-insect, that it's expressed by several factors and appoints Bombus morio and Xylocopa virescens are effective pollinators. She also believes that eventual pollinator are attracted by sweet substance enclosed in the furrows of the stamens and staminoids as well as in the multicellular formations of the floral receptacle. The polen viability was experimentally proved of the two types of anthers and the occurrence of a nectariser tissue and osmophors suggest that the insects find in the flowers other attractives beside polen.
