Using metronidazole at 1,500 mg daily doses for two months, the authors treated 13 patients with the chronic forrn of Chagas' dsease. From serological, radiological and electrocardiographic data it became evident that this form of treatment, at least with the dosages applied, did not suggest on the part of the drug noteworthy activity against Trypanosoma cruzi.
