Etiological, epidemiological anã physiopathological aspects of the infectious shock are reviewed with presentation of the main hemodynamic human standards. Emphasis is given to the disturbances of blood clotting and its role in the refractary state to the shock; pulmonary and renal changes are considered as well. Clinical manifestations and laboratory findings are also commented upon. The authors discuss the main therapeutic measures for the treatment of septic shock.
