The author shoivs the results obtained during a intestinal helminths survey in children of 7-14 years old who attend Public Scools in the urban area of the city of Salvador. For the fecal examinations was used Kato's technique. The prevalence of the intestinal worms was very high: A. lumbricoides, 76,5%, T. trichiurus 97,8%, S. mansoni 3,5%, hookworms 36,2% and E. vermicularis 1,0%. The Kato's technique showed to be an excellent method for intestinal worms diagnosis, except, as expected, for E. vermicularis and Strongyloides stercoralis.
