ROOTING OF 'TAHITI' LIME CUTTINGS COLLECTED AT DIFFETENT POSITIONS IN THE TREE

Rooting percentage, callus percentage, average root number, average root lenght, number of leaves and death percentage were evaluated in three types of 'Tahiti' lime cuttings (Citrus latifolia Tanaka), collected at three plant heights (base, middle and top). The following types of cuttings were studied: semihardwood (soft wood), semihardwood (hard wood) and hardwood cuttings. The statistical design consisted of randomized blocks, 3 x 3 factorial, with five plants (replications) and 20 cuttings per plot. The results showed that semihardwood (soft wood) cuttings presented the highest values for all parameters, regardless of plant height. The hardwood cuttings presented the lowest values, except for the average lenght and number of roots from the cuttings collected at middle height.
