Integrative and complementary practices in the Brazilian National Health System: political-epistemological disputes

Abstract

This article presents a study of Political Epistemology on the implementation of Integrative and Complementary Practices in the Brazilian health system. The objective was to analyze the controversy between the recommendations of the World Health Organization, the Ordinances of the Brazilian Ministry of Health and the public letters of scientific institutions. We highlight the underlying epistemic views and political interests present in each of the documents.
