The implicated subject and the scientific knowledge production

Every subject that engages in producing knowledge is, in a broad sense, an implicated subject. This essay results from the acknowledgement of the implicated subject condition of one of the authors during his doctorate research. Bibliographical research was carried out in electronic databases. Results indicated the lack of studies about the topic. Issues concerning neutrality in science and the mechanisms accepted by different epistemic communities in dealing with the implications were discussed. Challenges public health researchers face in order to have their work acknowledged as valid contributions to knowledge production were also taken into consideration.
