Drug advertising in women's magazines

This article analyzes the drug advertisements published in women's magazines of national circulation, according to the RDC 102/00. The advertisements were analyzed from January 2008 to June 2009 in national women's magazines. More than half of the analyzed samples of women's magazines contain at least one drug advertising. Although the material analyzed have not shown the deficiencies often found in the general advertising of medicines, the more evident refers to the font size, which probably consists of a form of 'compensation' of advertising space that the text 'lost' for required information.
