Globalization: notes on a debate

The text recaptures the different stage of perception in relation to the problematic of the globalization on social sciences, since the 80's. The debate is implicitly highlighted by how it is presented in the dispute between modernity and post-modernity, involving authors such as Lyotard & Habermas, as well as by an emergency of a "global common sense" in which the processes and structures that define a common destination and a horizon for mankind are naturalized, but in face of the differences and inequalities that form the specificities of the spaces and social positions of the contemporaneous world. Therefore, the potential analytics such as modernity-world, a situation, among others, that faces the challenges of the socio-anthropological disciplines in the explanation and interpretation of realities in which the global, the national and the local are mutually comprehended.
