Modeling the impact of the Fernando Ferrari Avenue (Vitória - ES) amplification on the air quality in the nearby area

The influence of Fernando Ferrari Avenue, Vitória - ES, Brazil, amplification, and consequent increase on the vehicles flood, upon air quality in the quarters located nearby the site and the affected populational amount were studied. For the scope detection and documentation, concentration and dispersion of these gases, pollutent isoconcentration maps (NOx and PM10) proceeding from vehicles were generated in the years 2004 and 2010, and a prospection for the year 2014 was accomplished. The study was developed in five distinct phases and for that, the following computational applications were used: EXCEL; RAMMET; WRPLOT; ENVIMAN 2.0.50 (computational application AERMOD); SURFER 3.2 and ArcGIS 8.3. It was verified the increase of the annual concentration of the isoline scope of the maximum point for the pollutents NOx and PM10, which will affect, respectively, 4,63 and 4,48 times more habitants in the year 2014, when compared to the year 2004. The higher scope of affected population in the studied years will happen in the six first years after conclusion of the avenue amplification; nevertheless, this increase will not come to be noxious to human health, according to the air quality standard of CONAMA nº 003 resolution.
