The article discusses film adaptation of Raymond Chandler novels and also his entrances as scriptwriter; in the last part, taking as reference Chandler's essay entitled "The simple art of murder", the author reconsiders the appeal of crime and mystery in the social representations present in the noir aesthetic that still influences crime fiction and mystery fiction.
