Abstract:
This study inquiries to what extent the digital divide presents itself as an expression of the social question in the 21st century in the face of the diffusion of information and communication technologies in Brazil, considering the contribution of Social Work. By identifying an abyss that separates the individuals who enjoy the possibilities of the cyberspace from those who do not, it is concluded that the use of technologies plays a fundamental role to citizenship in a democratic society.
