Abstract:
This article seeks to understand how the processes of European colonization and primitive capital accumulation are related to the allocation of care activities for women and the simultaneous invisibility and devaluation of these female experiences. In the light of feminist authors, it is discussed how the expansion of capitalism and colonization triggered the strengthening of patriarchy and the potentiation of the sexual division of labor.
