Decoloniality and Social Work: an emerging debate

Abstract:

This article reflects on the contributions of decolonial thinking to social work. It considers coloniality and decoloniality as analysis tools and ethical and political projects that offer alternatives for knowledge and social transformation due to theoretical, political and pedagogical epistemic diversity. It proposes to make more complex and question the logic of modern/Western knowledge production, highlighting categories and concepts that are useful to the practice and scientific production of the profession.
