Occupational sites and political dimensions of the social worker's practice

The article is about the political dimension of the social worker’s daily work in Brazil. It deals with the hypothesis that the Brazilian Social Work has been passing through transformations related to the paths of reality indirectly or directly, which determines the emergence of new occupational sites and professional abilities. It shows some changes in the traditional and emerging Social Work occupational sites, and it supports the need for questioning the daily immediate expressions of reality as a way for the professional to exercise his/her relative intellectual and technical-political autonomy under the direction of the professional ethical and political project.
