Abstract:
The article seeks to contribute to the advancement of the debate on the formation of Brazilian society and the racial issue in Social Work. To do so, it starts from elaborations woven by black social thought on the social formation of Brazil. The theoretical reflection presented is based on a bibliographic review of books, articles, theses and dissertations, concluding that, although this thinking is not homogeneous, it presents fundamental subsidies for the understanding of the structures of exploitation and oppression in the country.
