The management software used by nurses in the care process

This article is a research on nurses' use of the Health Information System in care practice, and shows the importance of their management actions in employing such software. The study is descriptive-exploratory, and makes use of a qualitative approach. It took place in the Sanitary District of Bairro Novo, in Curitiba, State of Paraná, in the southern region of Brazil. This sanitary district consists of eleven health units. In eight of them, the sanitary authorities are nurses, which are responsible for the implantation, attendance, and evaluation of town health programs. They also are health policy mediators between the system's users and the institution. Survey data was collected by applying semi-structured interviews, and the analysis is based on content analysis theory, which made it possible to cover three context units and seven signification units. Among them, this article presents two context units and one signification unit for each.
