Feminine sexuality: questions from the women daily

This is a qualitative, convergent-assistant study whose purpose is feminine sexuality. The objectives were to identify emerging questions from women's experiences about sexuality and how they deal with them in their day-to-day lives; as well as to analyze self-care practices related to sexuality. Eighteen women in a Health Care Unit in Vila Velha - ES, Brazil were interviewed from November of 2006 to July of 2007. The thematic analysis of the content showed that sexual intercourse is the focus of women's attention. From this, questions, problems, and the ways they deal with sexuality emerged. The results made the discussion about self-care practices possible, articulating them to the peculiarities of feminine sexuality. The convergence of scientific knowledge and common sense was applied in attending women's demands to the degree their participation, interaction, and dialogue promoted the exchange of experiences among the members of the group: client-subjects and researcher-nurse.
