National Liberation Action, the cuban revolution and armed struggle in Brazil

The present article analyzes the relationship between the National Liberation Action party and the Cuban revolution in the 1960's. It is based on the assumption that the Cuban Revolution represented a landmark in the history of socialism in Latin America. One of the Revolution's outstanding features was its influence on the organizations that took part in armed combat against the Brazilian dictatorship which was established in 1964. It is with this perspective in mind that we intend to discuss the influence the Cuban revolution had on the ALN, especially with regards to its project for establishing armed revolutionary struggle in Brazil.
