The meanings of violence: war, territory and power in mandinga's Africa

This article treats the great theme of war in Africa, which permits multiple articulations. The mandê tradition of West Africa permits the understanding of the ways the meaning of organized violence are constituted, especially the just war, with particular attention to the forms of power in relation to territoriality.
