Basic Information

History: Considering international publication demands, the Institute of Food Technology – ITAL, felt the need to adequate its periodical “Coletânea”, created in 1965, to the new technological standards of information and communication. Thus in 1998 it created, edited and published the first number of the Brazilian Journal of Food Technology.

The journal Brazilian Journal of Food Technology (BJFT) is a three-monthly electronic publication with free access, which proposes to publish the results of original research which contribute significantly to knowledge in the areas of food science, technology and engineering. The articles are made available in pdf at the electronic address of the journal http://bjft.ital.sp.gov.br/

The journal publishes original articles, scientific notes and review articles in Portuguese, English and Spanish. The submission of a manuscript presupposes that the same paper is not under analysis for publication in any other divulging vehicle.

Its abbreviated title is Braz. J. Food Technol., which should be used in bibliographies, footnotes and bibliographical references and strips.
