Ciência e Agrotecnologia is published bimonthly by Editora UFLA, with support provided by Pró-Reitoria de Pesquisa (the Office of Vice Provost for Research) and Pró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação (the Postgraduate Office) of Universidade Federal de Lavras (UFLA). It publishes scientific articles in areas of plant and animal sciences including Agronomy, Food Science and Technology, Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, Rural Engineering, Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnology.

Its abbreviated title is Ciênc. agrotec., which should be used in bibliographies, footnotes and bibliographical references and strips.
