Estudos Afro-Asiáticos is a publication of the Center for Afro-Asian Studies (CEAA) of Candido Mendes University. Founded in 1973, the CEAA is a research-oriented institution that provides teaching and documentation on racial relations and the Negro culture in both Brazil and African and Asian countries. Its official publication, Estudos Afro-Asiáticos, has been issued at regular intervals since 1973.

To briefly refer to the journal in bibliographies, footnotes and bibliographical references and strips, the use of its short title Estud. afro-asiát. is recommended.
