Basic Information

The Journal of Microwaves, Optoelectronics and Electromagnetic Applications is a scientific journal published by the Brazilian Microwave and Optoelectronics Society (SBMO) and Brazilian Society of Electromagnetism (SBMag). It is an on-line publication devoted to disseminating technical information in the areas of Microwaves, Optoelectronics, Photonics, and Electromagnetic Applications. The issues are published biannually. The submitted papers will be reviewed by, at least, two referees (generally, a Brazilian and a foreigner) who are experts in the papers area. After acceptance, articles are available worldwide for previewing and downloading through the Internet, free of charge. If the paper is accepted, the copyright is transferred to JMOe before the paper publication.

The Journal of Microwaves, Optoelectronics and Electromagnetic Applications was created in 1996 by SBMO originally named as Journal of Microwaves and Optoelectronics (JMO). It was one of the first electronic scientific journals in Brazil. The first issue was published in May 1997, and in 2005 the first ISSN number was granted. The journal remained an exclusive SBMO publication up to 2008, when a joint publication with SBMag was established. On this occasion, the title changed to its current version. In 2010, the JMOe ISSN number also changed to its current version.

Its abbreviated title is J. Microw. Optoelectron. Electromagn. Appl., which should be used in bibliographies, footnotes and bibliographical references and strips.
