Jornal de Pediatria is the official publication of The Brazilian Society of Pediatrics (SBP). This peer-reviewed journal has been continuously published since 1934. Jornal de Pediatria is a bimonthly publication online. An online, full-text version of Jornal de Pediatria is available at http://www.jped.com.br in English. Access to the site is free of charge. Jornal de Pediatria publishes materials aimed at improving the standards of pediatrics and healthcare provided for children and adolescents in general, as well as materials that foster debate about health. Its abbreviated title is J. Pediatr. (Rio J.), and it should be used in bibliographies, footnotes, references and bibliographic strips. |

Manuscript submission remains free of charge. Access to the site is free of charge. Papers must be submitted in English, as they will be published in English (html and pdf). American spelling is used. Articles written in a different language will be sent back to the authors. PUBLICATION FEE: Articles accepted for publication will be subject to a fee to have their publication guaranteed. By submitting the manuscript to this journal, the authors agree to these terms. Guidelines for manuscript preparation
Before sending your manuscript, please check if the following criteria were met. ( ) The title page presents the full title, running title, conflict of interest, financial source, e-mail addresses, and affiliation of all authors complete and correct. ( ) The title page presents the names and affiliations of all authors complete and correct. ( ) The title page presents the ORCID IDs of all authors? Access https://orcid.org/register to make your registration. ( ) In Methods, the approval by the institution's board or review committee (except for review articles) is mentioned in the article. ( ) For clinical trials, inform the registration number of the study at https://clinicaltrials.gov/ or ReBec? ( ) The abstract of original articles is structured in Objective, Method, Results, Conclusion. The text of original articles is structured in Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion. The abstract of review articles is structured in Objectives, Sources, Summary of the Findings, Conclusions. ( ) The tables and figures are mentioned in the text. Jornal de Pediatria publishes color illustrations online. Reproduction of previously published figures should be indicated in the legend and accompanied on submission by a permission letter from the copyright holder. Photographs should not allow identification of patients. If any photographs allow a patient to be identified, a written permission to use the photograph must be provided ( ) The original article has no more than 4 attachments (tables and figures). If there are more than 4 attachments, please indicate which of them are only supplementary material. ( ) The abbreviations mentioned in the tables/figures are explained in the text or in footnotes. Instead of using symbols or numbers, use lower-case letters (a, b, c, etc.). ( ) The abstract has no more than 250 words (do not use abbreviations), the text of original articles has no more than 3000 words and review articles have no more than 6000 words (excluding title page, abstract, acknowledgements, references, and attachments). ( ) When submitting randomized controlled trials, authors must provide the CONSORT checklist accompanied by a flow diagram that illustrates the progress of patients through the trial, including recruitment, enrollment, randomization, withdrawal and completion, and a detailed description of the randomization procedure.
