Scope and Policy
Organizações & Sociedade (O&S) focuses on publishing articles of a broad epistemological range covering mainstream articles as well as articles on the border of knowledge about non-conventional subjects. The O&S journal includes articles on public, private and third sector organizations addressing the following fields: human resources, theories and organizational culture, management of knowledge, environmental management, public management, strategy, development and local power, organizational learning, decision process, restructuring of labour, ethics and diversity in organizations. It means the journal is a vehicle for many movements within contemporary society.
Organizações & Sociedade aims to publish articles by teachers, researchers and students in the general field of organizations and society studies. The articles must be original (in Portuguese, Spanish or English) on a broad range of subjects in Administration and its interfaces with Applied Social Sciences, Social Sciences and other linked areas. The O&S journal has an editorial committee made up of researchers from the national scene as well as from abroad keeping high standards so as to guarantee the academic quality of the articles published. The main objective of the O&S journal is to supply the academic community with articles which can give a substantial contribution to amplifying knowledge in the field of Administration.
Any article submitted to the O&S journal is sent to two referees, members of the Editorial Committee or ad hoc referees, who are designated according to their knowledge in order to match the subject of the article. Referees are given a month to review the article.
Articles are evaluated following the criteria of content (pertinency, advisability , clear communication, up to date and original) and form (clear writing, use of technical norms, clear presentation of graphs, tables, maps, etc) as well as other relevant criteria.
A key component of the evaluation is the principle of a double blind review, followed by O&S.
