Scope and policy
Perspectivas em Ciência da Informação is a continuous flow publication of the Escola de Ciência da Informação (ECI) of the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG). It was launched in 1996, replacing the Revista da Escola de Biblioteca da UFMG, published from 1972 to 1995. It disseminates scientific articles in Information Science and its interdisciplinary dialogues with Librarianship, Archival Science, Museology and related areas, with the following prerequisites : I. They must be unpublished, that have not been published and/or sent for evaluation in other journals or annals of events. II. They must be written in one of these languages: Portuguese, English, Spanish.

IV. They must contain research results in the area of Information Science, explicitly highlighting objectives, procedures and analyses, and must not be a mere report of experiences or a bibliographic review. V. They must follow the formal aspects indicated in the Guidelines for Authors.
VI. This Journal is committed to ethics and quality in publishing. The Editorial Code of Conduct maintains Standards of ethical behavior expected of all parties involved in publishing in our journal: the author, the journal editor, the reviewers and the editor VII. Opinions and perspectives expressed in the text, as well as the accuracy and origin of quotations, are the sole responsibility of the author(s), and contribute to the promotion of:
VIII. This Journal is commited to ethics and quality in publishing. The Editorial Code of Conduct supports standars of ethical behavior expected of all parties involved in publishing in our journal: the author, the journal editor, the reviewers and the ditor. IX. All articles received will be submitted to the software Checkforplagiarism, to evaluate similarities.
Manuscripts that are outside the editorial requirements of the Journal will be returned to the authors. In this set, there are texts that do not deal with a central issue in the field of Information Science and its interdisciplinary dialogues, mainly with Librarianship, Archival Science and Museology, and do not present significant contributions to the analysis of the theme addressed. Manuscripts will also be rejected that: are merely descriptive, without developing a theoretical and methodological analysis of the issue addressed; whether experience reports or fragments of dissertations and theses; do not present empirical elements or sufficiently developed arguments that support their analyzes and conclusions. The Editorial Board may decide to publish an article, document, review, interview or special editions by order, with the purpose of collaborating with some more pressing debate in the area. This article or document will only be evaluated by the Editorial Board Evaluation Policy Submissions are evaluated based on the criteria listed below:

Form and preparation of manuscripts
Submission Guidelines (All items required) 1- The contribution is original and unpublished, and is not being evaluated for publication by another journal; otherwise, it must be justified in "Comments to the editor". 2 - The article must have a maximum length of 25 (twenty-five) pages and be sent as a word document, not containing the authors' names, as it is a blind evaluation. 3 - Title in Portuguese and English, which must clearly and precisely express the general content of the article. 4 - Minimum of 3 and maximum of 8 keywords. Summary in Portuguese and English. The abstract must have a maximum length of 200 (two hundre) words. 5 - Titles and subtitles of the sections must present only the first letter of the first word in capital letters, and may be bolded. 6 - The text must present the paragraphs without space between them. 7 - Citations of up to 3 (three) lines must be included in the text, between quotation marks and in italics. Citations with more than 3 lines should be indented from the paragraph. 8 - Foreign words must be cited in italics. 9 - Illustrations, graphics, drawings, charts, tables, etc. they should be restricted to what is absolutely necessary for the clarity of the text and should be located as close as possible to the passage where they are mentioned, providing an indication of the source used. Images must be sent in files separate from the text in high resolution (400 dpi), in TIFF, EPS, JPEG formats. 10 - Titles or subtitles must be clear and objective. If it is necessary to make a photolithography and/or final artwork, it will be borne by the author. 11 - References must be in accordance with ABNT's NBR-6023. 12- The file with the text of the article must be attached in word format. 13- The author retains the copyright under the published article and the journal the right of first publication. |

Open Science
Open Science is a new way of formatting, designing, managing, communicating and evaluanting research and its communication, focusing on the transparency of its communication, such as methods, data and computer programs. In this sense, Perspectivas em Ciência da Informação magazine adopts the follwing criteria for Preprints and open peer review (OPR). Authors may choose to: a) the publication or noto f the opinions of the approval evaluation of the manunscript, IF the submitted article is accepted for publication; It is b) direct or non-direct interaction with reviewers responsible for evaluating the manunscript. The author’s options must be informed in the “Open Science Compliance Form” c) concomitant disclosure of data and content related to the results presented in the article in preprint format Evaluators may also opt for one or more means of opening the opne peer review (POR) process. The options are: a) the publication or noto f the opinions of the approval evaluation of the manuscript, if the submitted article is accepted for publication; It is, b) direct interaction or not with the author of the article under evaluation. Reviewers must inform their options when receiving a review request for a particular article. |
CRediT Taxonoomy
(Authorship Contribution Taxonomy) is a high-level taxonomy, including 14 roles, that can be used to represent the roles normally played by contributors to academic and scientific output. Roles describe each author’s specific and individual contributions to scholarly and scientific research. CRediT The taxonomy provides a way to represent information about the individual contributions of authors. Its purpose is to provide transparency regarding authors contributions to scientific work, enabling improvementes in attribution, credit and accountability systems. It is important to note that more than oone term can be attributed to a single contributor.
