The Brazilian Society of Weed Science (SBCPD) was founded in 1963 and has significantly contributed to the development of weed biology and management in Brazil. The scientific advancements in this area are discussed at bi-annual national meetings. SBCPD's main publication since 1978 has been the journal Planta Daninha (WEED).

Abstracts in English and Portuguese are available online at the site: www.pdaninha.ufv.br

Its abbreviated title is Planta Daninha, and it should be used in bibliographies, footnotes, references and bibliographic strips.
