INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS

Objectives

"Polímeros" edited by the Brazilian Polymers Association (ABPol) aims to disseminate works of scientific, technological and marketing character in the polymer field.

Types of articles

The journal contains a Technical Section where Articles and Communications of the following nature are accepted:

Scientific-Technical: refer to original works with unpublished results, which show real progress and significant contribution to the field of polymers.

Industrial practice: prevailing industrial practices must be addressed and may include new procedures and/or developments that contribute to the improvement in the quality of raw materials, processes, finished products, etc.

Standards and Methods: standardized procedures or proposals for standardization must be described based on the author’s (institution/company) practical experience in order to contribute to a better quality control of raw materials, processes, finished products, etc.

Marketing: in this category updated marketing surveys of national and/or international coverage and detailed in recognized sources of information are included. In case of data collection based on personal research the methodology employed must be added.

Review Articles: these must be related to available knowledge on a particular subject with the most comprehensive approach possible. These papers must be submitted by professionals who develop research and publish papers (in indexed journals of international circulation) on the subject in question. Articles which only correspond to a bibliographic review, not containing a critical analysis of the author, will not be accepted.

Short Communication: these differ from articles, as they are compact works on recent developments, focusing directly on results/original proposals and submitted only in English. Because of their nature, these communications will go through a more accelerated review and publication process.

Dissemination Articles: correspond to texts on state-of-the-art topics of interest to the field of polymers.

Revised version

It is compulsory for the revised version to be accompanied by a letter in which the reviewers' comments and questions are individually and thoroughly addressed. In the responses, the authors must inform the number of the page/paragraph in which changes have been made. In case authors do not agree with any comments and/or requests of the reviewers, such a position must be included in the responses.
In the revised version, any changes made must be highlighted with some color other than black.
