Revista Brasileira de Ciência Política is published by the Institute of Political Science of the University of Brasília.

The journal was created in 2009. Until 2011, the journal came out every six months. Since 2012, it publishes an issue every four months.

The goal of Revista Brasileira de Ciência Política is to strengthen scientific debate in Brazilian Social Sciences. A plural forum, the journal publishes studies about political phenomena by authors from top Brazilian and foreign institutions. It accepts work not only by political scientists, but also by sociologists, anthropologists, historians and scholars of communication, law and other fields, with different theoretical and methodological perspectives.
