The Revista Brasileira de Linguística Aplicada (Brazilian Journal of Applied Linguistics) is an exclusively electronic, open access. peer-reviewed quarterly journal which aims to encourage research in the field of Applied Linguistics. Founded in 2001, the journal publishes – in a continuous flux – articles that address the many complex phenomena of language-related real life problems, concerning language use in different contexts or language learning. The journal also publishes interviews, and two of its annual issues focus on a specific theme in the field. RBLA is a publication of the Graduate Program in Linguistic Studies of the Faculty of Letters of the UFMG (Poslin) and sponsored bynthe research agencies CNPq and FAPEMIG. Its abbreviated title is Rev. Bras. Linguist. Apl., which should be used in bibliographies, footnotes and bibliographical references and strips |

All articles submitted to RBLA are subject to double or triple-blind peer review after the editors' pre-analysis in the light of RBLA mission and guidelines. Only the manuscript approved by two reviewers is considered for publishing with the proviso that the author makes the recommended corrections and modifications. Authors are not charged for publication. |
Form and preparation of manuscripts

1. The intellectual content of the paper is the responsibility of the authors. The Editors assume no responsibility for opinions and statements of authors. 2. The Revista Brasileira de Linguística Aplicada follows the Committee of Publications Ethics (COPE) - Guidelines. It does not accept any unethical behavior and does not tolerate any form of plagiarism. . The journal abides by the guidelines of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors which prescribes that "Authorship credit must be based on substantial contributions to (A) substantial contributions to conception, design, analysis and interpretation of data, (B) drafting the article or revising it critically for important intellectual content, (C) responsibility for the final approval of the version to be published. All conditions (A, B and C) must be met." 3. By submitting a manuscript, the authors agree that the copyright for their article is transferred to RBLA upon acceptance for publication, which, in turn, uses the Creative Commons Attribution License. 4. The journal welcomes articles in Portuguese, English and Spanish that address the many complex phenomena of language-related real life problems, concerning language use in different contexts or language learning. 5. The titles and the abstracts (10 lines maximum each), along with their respective keywords, must be written in both Portuguese and English. Submitted papers should have a maximum of 10,000 words (including references, notes and tables), font “Times New Roman”, size 12. Sections and subsections must be numbered. (The section headings must not be indented and must have arabic numerals (not followed by a dot)). 6. Priority will be given to papers that introduce actual research results bringing new contributions to the field of Applied Linguistics. 7. Articles which originate from theses and dissertations must make it explicit in order to avoid self-plagiarism. Supervisors must not be included as co-authors in order to obey Brazilian copywriting legislation (Law 9.610, Feb. 19, 1998. Art. 15: § 1º). Supervisors’ names should appear in a footnote on the first page. 8. Any notes must be in the form of footnotes. Acknowledgements must be collated in a specific section at the end of the article, rather than in footnotes. If the publication was funded through a grant, the funding agency must also be acknowledged. 9. Previously published tables and illustrations should include their original sources. 10. References should follow ABNT conventions (see examples below). 11. All submissions must be anonymous, with no obvious references to identify the author(s). 12. 13. In cases where the author(s) cite their own papers, the identifications must be replaced by XXX in the references and in the text. Complete references must be submitted in the supplementary document. 14. Statement on ethics and inappropriate practices
| The Brazilian Journal of Applied Linguistics follows the guidelines of the Code of Conduct and Good Practices of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) and does not tolerate unethical behavior or tolerate any form of plagiarism. All submitted works must be accompanied by a signed statement stating that the article is original and has not been published or submitted to any other journal or book. Authorship rights are limited to those who contributed significantly to the research development, data interpretation and article development. All contributors who do not fit the authorship criteria must be mentioned in a thank you note. Authors must have authorization from research participants to disclose the data produced, even if anonymity is guaranteed. The articles resulting from theses and dissertations must explain this information, in order to avoid self-plagiarism. Advisors should not be included as co-authors, in accordance with Law No. 9610, of February 19, 1998. Art. 15: § 1. The names of the advisors must appear in a footnote on the first page of the article. Written or oral works by other authors, whether published or unpublished, must be cited. Articles submitted to this journal will be treated as confidential documents. The editors coordinate the blind peer review process and send the submitted articles to reviewers from different institutions. |
