Basic information

Objectives: To divulge works scientific of the surgical area of the medicine that contribute stops its education and development.

Description: The publication and spreading of the scientific activities of its members are one of the objectives of the Medical Societies. The Brazilian College of Surgeons, established in 1929, already in its first statute it foresaw the edition of "Bulletin of the Brazilian College of Surgeons" as its official agency whose initial number was published in January of 1930.

In 1967 the National Directory of the CBC changed the name of periodic for "Magazine of the Brazilian College of Surgeons", that, however, it passed to be published without the had regularity. From 1974 the Magazine bimonthly passed to be edited, of regular form, until the present.

In these more than 30 years of uninterrupted publication, Magazine gained importance and range through the effort and devotion of members of the National Directory, in particular of its Publication Directors. With norms and criteria for election and scientific article publication of area of General and Specialized Surgery, including "to peer view", the Magazine of CBC if fits in the periodic main molds of the international ones and counts with an Advice of Copyholders and Consultants of high level. Constituted of Members Noble Persons, in its great majority, and deriving of Institutions of Superior Education of diverse regions of the country, these Advice evaluate, with seen to the publication, works of members and not members of the CBC.

Now, with its indexation in the SciELO, the Magazine of Brazilian college of Surgeons, gains greater visibility, greater importance e bigger range in its main purpose of spreading of science surgical.

Its abbreviated title is Rev. Col. Bras. Cir., which should be used in bibliographies, footnotes and bibliographical references and strips.
