Submitting articles by e-mail

Rem: Revista Escola de Minas has received works by e-mail for a long time. However, the authors have made mistakes that jeopardize quality of photographs, maps, etc. due to lack of graphic knowledge. Therefore, the following procedures are recommended:

  • How to submit a typed article: the article should be typed in Word, with *.doc or *.rtf extension. Images (photographs, maps, etc.) should not be inserted in the text.
  • Keywords: do not forget to insert keywords in Portuguese and English.
  • How to scan photographs: photographs (color or black and white) should be scanned with 300-dpi resolution. They should be scanned in the right scale of the page, that is, the same column width used in Rem: Revista Escola de Minas (one column is 5.5 cm wide; two columns + space between columns is 11.5 cm wide). Black and white figures should be scanned with 100-dpi resolution.
  • How to use colors with Corel Draw or any similar software: choose CMYK option (cyan, magenta, yellow and black). Most software use RGB colors (red, green and blue) and, if the previous option is not made, the colors may be affected.
  • Digital photographs: we recommend 200/300-dpi photographs. In order to have a good quality publication, the photographic copy of the pictures must be sent to Rem: Revista Escola de Minas. Our laboratory has a semiprofessional scanner and very often Rem: Revista Escola de Minas uses a professional bureau to enhance quality.
