Basic Information

The Journal Revista Interdisciplinar da Mobilidade Humana - REMHU is a four months publication of the Centro Scalabriniano de Estudos Migratórios - CSEM, from the scalabrinian missionary sisters of São Carlos Borromeo. The journal publishes academic articles on original field or theoretical researches related to the migration theme and its diverse aspects.

The objective is to offer - to the academic world, intellectuals, migration policy makers and pastoral workers - an interdisciplinary analysis on themes associated to contemporary human mobility at an international level.

REMHU, based on the mission of CSEM, favors the circulation of knowledge and studies which support and promote human rights of individuals and groups in mobility.

The journal REMHU is divided into four main sections. After the Editorial, we present a "Dossier" on a specific theme related to migrations at an international level. This section is composed of investigative scientific articles and theoretical essays that offer different academic perspectives about the theme in focus, including, depending on the case, sociological, psychological, anthropological, demographical, ethnological, juridical, statistical, theological, and pastoral approaches, among other.

The following section, "Articles", is composed by academic articles on any theme related to the migration phenomenon.

The third section, "Reports and Reflections", includes reflections and comments on issues related to migration; interviews with members or representatives of organizations whose agenda is related to the theme in focus or to similar issues; reports from people directly involved in the migration phenomenon, testimonies of the social and pastoral care of migrants and refugees, focusing, above all, on the pastoral care and teachings of the scalabrinian missionary sisters.

The last section of the journal REMHU includes Reviews, Thesis, and Dissertations, which give the reader a critical evaluation of recent publications and summarize dissertations and thesis on the migration topic.

The texts are published in up to 5 languages: Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, English, and French.

The abbreviated title of the journal is REMHU, Rev. Interdiscip. Mobil. Hum. (Impr.), which should be used in citations, footnotes, and references.
