Basic Information
The IBRACON Structures and Materials Journal (in Portuguese: Revista IBRACON de Estruturas e Materiais) is a technical and scientific divulgation vehicle of IBRACON (Brazilian Concrete Institute), published every two months. Each issue has 10 to 15 articles and, possibly, a technical note and/or a technical discussion regarding a previously published paper. All contributions are reviewed and approved by professionals with recognized scientific competence in the area. The IBRACON Structures and Materials Journal was created in 2008 as a result of the combination of the previous IBRACON Structural Journal and IBRACON Materials Journal. Objectives
Its abbreviated title is Rev. IBRACON Estrut. Mater., which should be used in bibliographies, footnotes and bibliographical references and strips. |

All content of the journal, except where identified, is licensed under a Creative Commons attribution-type BY. Authors are allowed to hold Copyright without restrictions. |
Sponsors
The funds for the maintenance of the Journal are currently obtained from the IBRACON. The Journal is not supposed to be maintained with funds from private sponsorship, which could diminish the credit of the publications. |

Scope and Policy
The IBRACON Structures and Materials Journal aims to disseminate recent developments and advances in concrete structures and materials, and promote the development of the construction industry through joint collaboration of researchers, engineers, designers, builders, manufacturers and users of concrete structures and materials. The main objective is the publication of original contributions on scientific and technological research, development and implementation of structural concrete. This includes, among others, articles on standards, structural design, concrete structures, composite structures, cement, cementitious materials and their derivatives, such as concrete and mortar, reinforcing polymeric materials, and asphalt used in construction. Fracture mechanics, aspects of durability, structural properties, performance in situ, construction techniques and structural behavior of materials when used in components and structures are also in the scope of the Journal. Access to the Journal is free of charge for authors and readers. |
Form and preparation of manuscripts
Once accepted, an article is typeset according to the journal layout. The author will be required to review and approve the galleys before publishing. At this stage only typesetting errors will be considered. |
Manuscripts Submission

Peer Review Process
The papers and the technical notes are revised by at least two reviewers indicated by the editors. Discussions and replies are accepted for publication after a review by the editors and at least one member of the Editorial Board. In case of disagreement between the reviewer and the authors, the contribution will be sent to a specialist in the area, not necessarily linked to the Editorial Board. Conflict of interests is carefully handled by the Editors. |
