Tropical Plant Pathology - Fitopatologia Brasileira is published under the name Fitopatologia Brasileira since 1976, on behalf of the Brazilian Phytopathological Society, located in Brasília, Federal District. The journal is published bimonthly.

Tropical Plant Pathlogy - Fitpatologia Brasileira begins with vol. 33, issue 1, January-February 2008, following the sequence of numbering of its predecessor, which was published from 1976 to 2007, Vol. 1 to Vol. 32.

The journal's short title is Trop. Plant Pathol. which should be used in footnotes, bibliographical references and strips.
